Kent began handling dogs in 1984, showing his own Norwegian Elkhounds at the Breed and Group level. In 1987 he began showing Schipperkes also. Kent enjoyed great success as an owner/handler of Schipperkes and Elkhounds culminating with Boomer, BIS Ch. Birken Wald’s Atomic Bomb, a multiple Group winning, Best in Show Schipperke who was also the #2 Schipperke in 1996.

In 1991, Kent began to offer his handling services for a fee. Since then he has handled numerous Best In Show and Group winning Mastiffs, Bullmastiffs and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. He has had at least one breed in its Top Ten every year since 1994 and has had as many as three breeds ranked simultaneously . He has completed more than 60 championships on dogs in many different breeds.

Kent has competed and placed in 6 out of the 7 Groups. He has earned multiple wins and awards at several Breeds’ National Specialty Shows.
